He admits the room is not five stars, and she says that is okay. She asks if this is the first time he has brought a woman to a motel, and his stammer earns a “Cute.” She goes off to shower and asks him not to be weird.

The ex, whom she calls Tyler, phones in. He wants to know where she is, and she tells him she is gone for good. Afterward she says that guys like Tyler need to win, and she wishes men were as nice as the driver. He replies that he is just trying to help. She then asks him to pass her a towel, and the final beat is her telling him to come closer.

What the road story promises
