Candy AI Review: The Chat, the Videos and the Shorts

Updated October 16, 2026 · By Ryan Mitchell

Adult AI series · 18+

This Candy AI review begins with the Shorts. Candy.ai is an AI companion platform centred on chat, and Candy Shorts is the series section within it. A free account gets 5 chat messages, while Premium brings unlimited messages, your own characters, 18+ images and videos, and 100 tokens a month. The stories can be watched on free episodes without the chat. For the chat itself, Premium is where it opens up.

When an episode of Mona’s Worst Enemy finishes, the player does not stop at the credits. It proposes a chat with the lead character, a profile called Mona Newman, as though the story might carry on talking. That button takes you out of the Shorts and into the rest of Candy.ai, and this review goes along with it.

What is Candy AI, and where do the Shorts fit?

Candy.ai is a companion service built on AI. Its characters are generated, and you can chat with them, design your own and, on Premium, produce 18+ images and videos. Candy Shorts is the part you watch rather than chat with: scripted stories told in vertical episodes of a minute or two, written beforehand with a beginning, a middle and an end. The series play with no chat involved and leave your chat history untouched.

We arrived through the Shorts, so this review reads the platform from that side. On October 16, 2026, we opened a free account and went through the free episodes of 143 of the 159 series. Our guide to what Candy Shorts is explains the format in depth. This page deals with what surrounds it, with the legal questions going to the safety guide and the money questions to what it costs.

What do you get from the companion chat?

Chat is the heart of Candy AI, and its limit is simple to state. Free accounts receive 5 messages, and Premium unlocks unlimited text messages. Five messages make a sample rather than a conversation: just enough to meet a character, send a first line and read the reply, before the wall goes up.

At the end of an episode the Shorts open that door. We counted on September 24, 2026: the end-of-episode screen offered a chat with the lead character in 92 of the 111 open series, while the remaining 19 pointed to character creation. The profile behind the button has a name of its own: Mona Newman for Mona’s Worst Enemy, Harriet Seagrave for Under the Boss and Colette Ramsey for Dad’s New Girlfriend.

The Terms of Service call the conversations fictional, which suits the product, since you are taking part in a story with a generated character. Still, what you type is real information about you, so leave personal details out.

What do Premium’s character, image and video tools add?

Premium turns the chat into a toolbox. In plain words, the plan page lists these perks: create your own AI girlfriend or girlfriends, generate 18+ images, generate 18+ videos, a Full Live Action Experience, unlimited text messages and a monthly allowance of 100 tokens. The 18+ labels leave no doubt. This is an adult platform, and Premium is where its tools open up.

Those tools make up a different product from the Shorts. You watch a Short that was written beforehand, whereas video generation is a separate Premium perk. The generator side has a page of its own, videos and app.

The Shorts spend tokens. Premium brings 100 a month, an unlocked episode costs 12 in most series, and the creator and Spicy series charge extra. The app is a shortcut to the browser rather than a download: the plans page explains Add to Home Screen on iPhone and Android. You will find dollar prices on the pricing page.

Who are the creator digital twins?

Candy Creators is the shelf where real performers license a digital twin, an AI version carrying their name and likeness. Every twin is a joint project: the creator takes part and gives full consent (Help Center, August 26, 2026). Six creators have Shorts, listed alphabetically as Asa Akira, Bonnie Blue, Lexi Luna, Mia Malkova, Riley Reid and Sophie Dee, and each of them licensed a twin without performing in the series.

On October 16, 2026, the catalog counted seven series featuring Riley Reid’s twin and four featuring Mia Malkova’s. Candy.ai lists more creators for chat than the six with Shorts, so the twin idea reaches past the series. Paid episodes of open creator series are priced at 30 tokens, against 12 in most others, which means a creator title takes a larger bite of the monthly allowance.

Each twin and the series built around it appear on the creators hub, and the profiles of Riley Reid and Mia Malkova go into more depth.

Is Candy AI legit, and is there an alternative?

Candy AI is legit in the ordinary sense, with a named operator, published terms and policies, an age gate and written refund rules. We will not go over the evidence again, as the safety guide sets it out, together with how the charge shows up on a statement and which look-alike sites to avoid.

Alternatives are harder to address honestly. Other companion apps exist, but we judge a platform by opening it, and Candy.ai is the one we have read and watched closely, so we do not rank rivals we have not used. The closest alternative to the whole platform is found on the same site: skip the chat and watch only the Shorts, which play without it.

The bottom line: is Candy AI worth it for a Shorts fan?

Candy AI is two products under a single login. The chat is the companion side, with a free sample of 5 messages and then Premium for the rest. The Shorts are the stories, with a free pair of episodes in most series and tokens after that. Premium combines both and adds character creation and 18+ images and videos on top.

Our verdict: the free account is worth opening, since it settles at no cost whether the Shorts hook you. Premium pays off if the chat or the creation tools are what you want, or if you will pay for episodes regardless and would like 100 tokens a month. Pass on the platform if you are under 18, if adult content is not for you, or if you expect unlimited chat on a free account.

To begin with the stories, browse the series hub and choose by score, or start with the free episodes guide.

What else do readers ask?

What is Candy AI?

Candy.ai is a companion service powered by AI: you chat with generated characters, design your own and, on Premium, make 18+ images and videos. Candy Shorts is its series section, made of scripted vertical episodes you watch with no chatting involved. A free account can watch episodes 1 and 2 of most series and try the chat for 5 messages.

Is it legit and safe?

Yes. Candy AI is legit, with a named operator, published terms, an age gate and written refund rules. How safe you are depends on where you click and what you type, as look-alike sites and personal details shared in chats are the real risks. The safety guide covers the operator, the billing and the rules.

How many messages does a free account get?

A free account is given 5 chat messages, and Premium unlocks unlimited text messages. The Shorts are a separate matter: most series begin with two episodes that cost no tokens, and the chat is not needed. Premium also comes with 100 tokens a month for the paid ones.

Can I watch the Shorts without using the chat?

Yes. The Candy Shorts series play by themselves, and watching leaves your chat history untouched. When an episode ends, the player offers a chat with the lead character, or invites you to create one, and you can ignore both. The decision is yours.

Are there alternatives to Candy AI?

Other AI companion apps exist, but this site reviews Candy.ai and its Shorts and does not rank rivals. For the stories without the chat, the Shorts are the lighter route: two episodes of most series are free to open, and you can stop right there.
