Twenty minutes into the movie Ava is asleep on the couch, as usual, and her boyfriend’s stepsister has taken note.

Episode 1: a banned boyfriend and a two-year problem

Our viewing of episode 1 came from a free Candy AI Shorts account, subtitles on. Ava announces a rule for tonight’s movie night, and the boyfriend gets sent away. He explains his predicament: his girlfriend is his stepsister’s best friend, a problem for two years now, and though he loves her, he keeps noticing the stepsister. Ava shouts to ask whether he is in the kitchen, which is off limits, and the stepsister vouches for him: he is just getting water, so relax. Ordered to bed for the moment, he obeys. By the twenty-minute mark of the film Ava is out cold, as usual, and the stepsister goes to find him. She asks whether he is allowed now, tells him to come and see for himself, and the episode closes on her promise that the two of them will be quiet.

Episode 2: she could wake up any second

A whisper carries the whole of episode 2. He frets that Ava might wake at any second, and the stepsister, Camila, calls that the fun part. Talk of testing his loyalty sets the game going. He objects that they are stepsiblings, and she is not slowed down by it. “Camila, she’s right there,” he says, and she replies: “You keep saying that like it’s a reason to stop.” Then a one-word pet name cuts across the whispering, and Camila observes that Ava is still asleep. Her final lines remind him that his girlfriend’s best friend and his stepsister are one woman, and she offers to take care of something for him.

What Boys Not Allowed promises on Candy Shorts

The first thing to fail is the rule that gives the series its name. Boys Not Allowed on Candy Shorts depends on a single risk, Ava waking up, and both free episodes play on it: a kitchen check in episode 1, a one-word interruption in episode 2.
